Brooklyn Bridge Pup Crawl
This is old news but I’m still mad I was stuck on a business trip last weekend and missed this annual event for the second time. Close to 500 dogs lit up the night as they raised money for local shelters and rescue organizations. It’s not too late to order the LED leash featured during the crawl. Part of the proceeds help needy shelter dogs. UPDATE: thanks to Anthony Newman we learned the event was postponed due to weather. We still have a chance to join!
Bardwell Dog Food @ the Meat Hook
If you’re in Williamsburg, stop by the Meat Hook and ask for limited edition Bardwell Dog Food. This nutrient-filled supplement is made once a year using harvest offal from the farm’s grass-fed goats. It’s $2.00 a pint and you can mix it into fido’s food for a special treat. We hear there’s still some left in the butcher’s freezer.
Brooklyn Bridge Bark
Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 6 is getting its very own full service pet boutique! Opening this fall across from the dog run, Brooklyn Bridge Bark will offer dog walking, grooming, boarding, retail and more. Stay tuned for more details.
The chain store is coming to the retail space in the new condos on Atlantic and Boerum Place. They will occupy 17,600 square feet and are scheduled to open late 2011. It will be nice to have the option to save on basics but still support the ma and pa shops for the specialty stuff we can’t live without.
Looking for a pet-friendly residence in the neighborhood? The Addison, a new doorman, all-amenity rental building at 225 Schermehorn just went on the market this week. Pros: comfortable digs at decent prices, no broker fees and new renter concessions. Cons: Downtown Brooklyn and a long walk to the dog run.
