Halloween Fun For Brooklyn Dogs

With Halloween just a few weeks away Brooklyn dogs have their pick of events where they will be doing tricks for treats.

The annual charity Howl-o-Ween Doggie Costume Parade and Contest sponsored by Perfect Paws and Friends of Hillside Dog Park takes place October 30th from 1-3pm on the Promenade. The registration fee is $25 per dog and all proceeds go to animal-related charities. An after party will be held at Vinegar Hill Vet, where the winners will be announced and prizes awarded.

The 12th annual Great PUPkin dog costume contest takes place on October 30th from noon to 1pm. This year Brooklyn Bark will be partnering with official Westminster Dog Show photographers, Wild Coyote Studios who will be at the event to take dog portrait photography. The suggested donation for a portrait is $25 and all proceeds will be donated to event sponsor, Fort Greene PUPS.

Pier 6 Harvest Festival is holding a kids Halloween parade on Saturday, October 23rd at 11:45 am in which dogs are allowed to participate. There’s also talk of a dog Halloween party at the Pier 6 run that day.
