Go Apple Picking With Your Dog at Fishkill Farms

Make apple picking more fun this fall with the addition of your dog. On the way home from a trip to the Catskills we made a stop at Fishkill Farms in East Fishkill, New York to pick apples and visit their farm shop. The dog-friendly orchard is great way to spend a day outdoors with your dog and enjoy the crisp fall weather. Just make sure to keep an eye on your pooch since they can eat apples but not the seeds, which can be harmful.

Fishkill Farms has 40 acres of apple orchards for the picking in addition to an organic vegetable garden, pumpkin and berry patch. They current have McIntosh, Spartan, Cortland and Macoun apples, along with pumpkins available to pick. When planning your trip, pack a lunch to enjoy on the picnic tables on the orchard. Also make sure to visit the farm store for local and sustainably produced food and delicious Hudson Valley ice cream.
