How Rocket Learned to Read: Kid’s Book Inspired by Brooklyn Dog

Out on a walk with Laly this morning I came across a man from the neighborhood who is the proud owner of another Wheaten Terrier. This time he wasn’t with his dog Rocket but returning from an event at the Brooklyn Book Festival. It turns out Rocket’s dad is Tad Hills, the acclaimed children’s book author and illustrator. As part of the book festival, Tad was reading to kids from his new book, How Rocket Learned to Read. Released in July, it is the adorable tale about Rocket, a dog who learns to read with the help of an encouraging birdie. Head over to BookCourt on Saturday, September 18 for a kids event featuring Tad and the book. If you’re lucky the real Rocket might just make a guest appearance.
