Yummy, Yummy! Homemade Treats in Laly’s Tummy

If you love spoiling your dog as much as I do, PupCakes 2 Go is for you. The organic mix lets you make healthy treats for your pooch at home in under five minutes. I scored a PupCakes kit at the NYC Pet Show and had a blast this morning cooking up a homemade breakfast for Laly.

The kit comes with a bone-shaped reusable microwaveable pan and two packets of mix that make six treats in total. All you do is add a tablespoon of peanut butter and a half cup of water to the mix, combine and pour into to the pan. After two and a half minutes in the microwave you have fresh, delicious smelling semi-homemade treats for your dog.

Once the treats cooled they popped right out of the mold without sticking or breaking. I frosted them with a little peanut butter and low-fat cream cheese for a tasty doggy breakfast. I’ll admit, I tasted a crumb and they were quite good. Laly seemed to like them since she scarfed them right down.

For those concerned about ingredients, the mix consists of oat flour, rice flour, ground carob powder, wheat germ, flaxseed, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder. No preservatives or icky stuff you can’t pronounce on the list. I’d make these again in a heartbeat.
